About Shri Hindu Takht

Why this trust exists, and the history it was built to recover.

भारत — the greatest land

Bharat is the greatest land in the world. Sages and saints took birth in this holy land. Through penance, they composed the world's first scriptures on this soil and guided the world.

Our Indian sages knew about the universe thousands of years ago. They knew about science thousands of years ago. India was known in the world as the Golden Bird — the kings and society here were very prosperous and glorious.

When there were no schools for studying in European countries, at that time there were lakhs of Gurukuls and universities in India. People from foreign countries used to come to India to acquire knowledge.

Attracted by the prosperity and grandeur of India, foreign invaders attacked the Indian land. They looted many parts of undivided India and forcibly converted people to other religions. Many countries surrendered to the invaders, and along with the king, the people also changed their religion.

Sanatan Hindu struggle and preservation

Sanatan Hindu society is an example for the world — a society that fought against very large invasions. The brave warriors of India fought with courage, and that struggle shows how much our great ancestors endured to protect their religion. For thousands of years this community faced invaders and did not change its faith.

The biggest reason for this was the contribution of our scriptures. In India, the teachings of religious texts were carried through the Guru–disciple tradition. The Guru would speak and the disciples would memorise. In those times writing was not practised; only after a long period did texts begin to be written down.

Foreign invaders killed Sanatan scholars so that they could not teach and inspire from the scriptures. Scriptures of Sanatan Dharma were burnt. The Gurukul tradition was ended, and a different education system was implemented in its place.

Later, historians wrote an account of India for Indians to read that created a feeling of inferiority among Sanatan Hindus. Even after hundreds of years, that version of the Mughal and British periods came to be believed as the whole truth. Because of this, much of today's Hindu society is unaware of its own ancient religious knowledge.

Establishment and leadership

From time to time, scholars of Sanatan Dharma began searching for ancient texts so that Hindu society could learn about its own history. They discovered and studied those texts, and a great deal of work went into it. History that had been left out of the popular account was placed before the world. Even today our ancient texts are studied in foreign countries — texts that were taken out of India centuries ago.

Shri Parveen Kumar Ji, the founder president of Shri Hindu Takht, created an organisation for Hindus living in India and abroad — to spread Sanatan Dharma and Sanatan traditions, so that everyone can receive the knowledge of our ancient sages and saints. He shared this thought with revered saints, and Shri Hindu Takht was established with their blessings.

Shri Hindu Takht is run by a trust, under the guidance of saints and mahatmas.

Shri Parveen Kumar is an industrialist. The sanskars of his previous life inspired him to give a part of his earnings to the service of saints and Sanatan Dharma. Apart from being an industrialist, he is a social worker, and he carries a wish that Sanatan Hindus should know their ancient, glorious history. That is why this work was begun under the supervision of revered saints and Mahamandleshwars.
